Lighting up the trees might mean something a little different in Denver than in other parts of the country. Nearly four years after recreational sales began, legal cannabis continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. This week's Cannabis Calendar offers plenty of proof: It's full of industry gatherings, classes and pot parties. Keep reading for the best events this week and beyond.

Cannabis Banking: Myths and Facts

Alliance Financial will be at the Crafty Fox from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, to talk about the Cole Memorandum and issues regarding cannabis banking — some of which Alliance thinks it can fix. Denver Norml Third Annual Holidaze Fundraiser

NORML's Denver chapter is holding a private fundraiser on Wednesday, December 13, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. on the Metlo rooftop to fund its lobbying and advocacy efforts. Yeti Farms Presents: A Special Industry Event

Nonprofit community organization Nuvolution is holding a potluck on Friday, December 15, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Twisted Sister Yoga. The Denver-based group well set its 2018 goals and discuss important issues facing cannabis education The event is free to attend, but donations are accepted.

North Denver dispensary Seed & Smith will hold its grand opening for recreational sales on Friday, December 15. There will food trucks, live DJs and glassblowers, product vendors and glass cleaners on the scene throughout the day, and guests (21+) will be able to tour the onsite cultivation.

420-friendly venue Spectra Art Space and its team of artists will transform the gallery into a "landscape of donut-inspired wonder" on Saturday, December 16, from 7 to 10 p.m. The party will have new work from artists like KGB Glass, Sarah Marblesbee, Kaijuju Designs, Ashley Raine, Parker Ledford, Lynett May, Jay Sween, Sadie Young, Kayla Smith, David Holsapple and more. The will be live music, Voodoo Doughnut treats and adult refreshments and giveaways. The event (21+) is free to attend upon registration, and VIP tickets – which include a surprise from KGB, a private viewing and first dibs on art for sale, a private donut sesh with KGB and Sarah Marblesbee and free Voodoo Doughnuts and other refreshments – are $60. Vegan Optimism: Allies Into Advocates

The founders of Vegan Optimism: Allies into Advocates, a nonprofit focused on promoting veganism, are throwing a pot-friendly holiday party at their home in the RiNo neighborhood on Saturday, December 16. Aaron and Nicole Eisenberg will have music, holiday lights, drinks and plenty of cannabis and vegan food for guests (21+) to enjoy from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Attendance is $20 per person.

CBD Bath Bombs, Yoga and Spa Day

Spectra will host another cannabis-infused event the day after its Donut-Topia, with manicures, CBD-infused facials, a yoga class and a lesson on making CBD bath bombs from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 17. Each attendee will go home with three bath bombs on top of the spa treatments, and a light brunch will be served. Entry is $45 now and $55 at the door.

Smokin' New Years Eve Celebration

This 420 New Years Eve party will begin at Cheba Hut downtown at 5:30 p.m., where guests will depart shortly after for a grow tour at Medicine Man's cultivation and a quick shopping spree at its adjacent dispensary. Partiers will then visit a glassblowing demonstration in Golden, followed by a trip back to Denver for pot-infused mocktails and a special edition of Puff, Pass & Paint painting class. Champagne and smoking utensils will be available throughout the trip, but guests must bring their own cannabis. Tickets (21+) are $99 until Friday, December 15, and then they will rise to $129.

Cannabis: A Visual Perspective

This current art exhibit at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History includes botanical watercolor, colored pencil, print and mixed-media illustrations from the Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists, all of which explore the diversity of cannabis. The Indo Expo will return to Denver on Saturday, January 27, and Sunday, January 28, at the Denver Mart. The business-to-business trade show was built specifically for the cannabis industry, bringing together equipment, lighting, nutrient, greenhouse, lifestyle and ancillary companies for promotion and partnership purposes; there will also be legal, HVAC, technical, packaging, labeling, security and real estate and human resource companies for commercial cannabis. Women Grow Leadership Summit

Women Grow, one of the cannabis industry's largest trade groups, will hold its 2018 leadership summit on February 1 and 2 at the Westin Denver Downtown. Men and women from around the world will meet over two days (three if you're a Women Grow member) to learn, network and share their experiences in the cannabis world.
