How to Choose High-Quality Glass

If you are planning to buy your next (or first) glass, you should know that it is better to get a high-quality one so that you do not have to deal with shattered pieces in a few months but can instead use your purchase for at least a couple of years.

Buying low-quality glass can turn into a big disappointment unless you are prepared to replace it every couple of months. Not only does high-quality glass serve you much longer; it is also often much healthier and even looks better. So, how can you know whether you have a good-quality item or a piece of garbage?

It must be made of borosilicate glass

Not all kinds of glass can withstand heat equally well. And resistance to high temperatures is exactly the quality that makes the glass either low- or high-quality. The best option is borosilicate glass, which is made of boron trioxide and silica. Such glass can endure the thermal shock of up to 329 °F of temperature differential.

So, how can you know whether it is borosilicate?

5 Reasons Why Dabbing Is Better Than Smoking
5 Reasons Why Dabbing Is Better Than Smoking
Do you still prefer smoking weed joints? But come on, it is quite an outdated way of marijuana use, is it not? If you do not believe that dabbing is more effective and pleasurable, here are five reasons to change your mind.

It cannot be cheap

High-quality glass has its price for a reason―it is more difficult to manufacture, and it will serve you much longer than a low-quality product. If you choose a cheap tool, do not expect it to have all the properties of the nice glass. If you do not have enough money for a really good glass piece but still want one, you can have a look at a second-hand item on eBay.

Most of the cheap stuff is made in China. They may look exactly like the ones that were produced in the U.S. or Europe, but the looks are deceiving. As we said above, the technology of manufacturing borosilicate glass items is complicated, and, therefore, such items cannot cost little money. If you like the glass of an unknown label, pay attention to the country of its origin and give preference to a European or American company.

Glass thickness does not guarantee quality

If you buy a piece made of the thickest glass in the store, it still does not mean that you get a high-quality item. Even a 9-mm piece can fracture if it is made of the wrong kind of glass. At the same time, high-quality material can allow to make a thin light piece that will look good, be heat-resistant, and still be stronger than the 9 mm piece made from low-quality glass.

Many people think that cannabis concentrates will soon become so popular that they will surpass the sales of common cannabis flowers. The effects and features of concentrates are still not studied deeply enough, and that causes many superstitions and misconceptions.

Choose a trusted name

The easiest way to know whether it is borosilicate glass or not is asking for the document of authenticity. It is also a good idea to choose a piece that is made by a famous brand or artists that are known for high-quality products. Most of the respectful labels such as Graffix, Weed Star Glass, Grav Labs, Illadelph, and others prefer to produce borosilicate pieces.
