Orlando to Open Its First Cannabis Dispensary

Florida legalized the usage of cannabis for medicinal purposes in November 2016. Since then, the state has established numerous measures to regulate the industry and open its first legal medicinal marijuana points of sale as soon as possible. Orlando, the third-largest metropolitan area in Florida, will finally open its first medical marijuana dispensary on June 2.

This Friday, the first-ever weed dispensary is opening its doors to the public in Orlando.

A Winter Garden-based company Knox Medical received permission from the Florida Department of Health to sell medical marijuana products with a low amount of THC at its locations. The dispensary will be opened at 11 a.m. at 1901 N. Orange Ave. in Ivanhoe Village.

Bruce Knox and José J. Hidalgo, the founders of Knox Medical, have recently stated that the company is cooperating with Florida’s top designers and architects to create a unique establishment that puts the needs of the customers first. The company’s main purpose is to redefine excellence on every stage of cultivating, processing, and selling cannabis products. Knox Medical is privileged to serve Floridian patients and offer compassionate medical care through their dispensaries.

Knox Medical will offer cannabis products to patients who are registered with the state's Compassionate Use Registry. The company has also recently opened its first medical marijuana dispensary in Gainesville.
