Recipe: Homemade Cannabis-Infused Spanakopita

Spanakopita is a delicious Greek savory pastry. Today we are going to show you how to infuse this dish with marijuana.

Spanakopita is a healthy dish that is made of scallions, spinach, garlic, ricotta cheese, and other ingredients that are very useful for our digestive system. Giving spanakopita a brand new twist by infusing it with cannabis is a great decision. The marijuana-infused olive oil we are going to use will make the phyllo dough crispy and totally irresistible.

The homemade cannabis-infused spanakopita we are going to cook today is a 12-servings dish that is very easy to make. All you need is to buy some cannabis-infused olive oil in any nearby dispensary.

Equipment Needed


Baking pan (9x13-inch)



1 package phyllo dough

10 tablespoons cannabis-infused olive oil

2 large yellow onions

½ cup scallions

¼ cup fresh dill (chopped)

2 teaspoons garlic (minced)

2 ½ pounds frozen spinach (defrosted and squeezed of all moisture)

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup feta cheese (crumbled)

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Allow the unwrapped defrosted phyllo dough to come to room temperature.
  3. Peel and chop onions.
  4. Thinly slice scallions.
  5. Place a large saucepan on the stove. Turn on medium heat.
  6. Pour 2 tablespoons of cannabis-infused olive oil into the preheated saucepan.
  7. Add onions and saute for about 10 minutes.
  8. Then, add the sliced scallions, garlic, and dill.
  9. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  10. Add spinach and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. A tip here: Do not forget to stir the mixture.
  11. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool down for at least 15 minutes.
  12. Then, add ricotta cheese, feta, salt, and pepper.
  13. Lightly beat eggs and add them to the spinach mixture as well.
  14. Mix the ingredients well.
  15. Grease a baking pan with cannabis-infused olive oil.
  16. Clean the work surface.
  17. Unwrap phyllo dough and lay the sheets on your work surface.
  18. Cover the dough sheets with a slightly damp dishtowel.
  19. Lay the first sheet on the bottom of the greased pan.
  20. Brush lightly with cannabis-infused olive oil.
  21. Repeat this process with the remaining 11 sheets.
  22. Spread the spinach mixture over the phyllo.
  23. Place 12 more sheets of phyllo on the spinach mixture the same way you did with the bottom layers. A tip here: If you fall short of cannabis-infused oil, use regular olive oil to substitute it.
  24. Place the baking pan into the preheated oven.
  25. Bake spanakopita for 50 to 60 minutes until it is medium golden brown.
  26. Let it cool down for 10 minutes before cutting.
