Recipe: Homemade Cannabis Potato Latkes

Ingredients

4 cups vegetable oil

5 grams cannabis buds (high-quality)

2 cups rice/couscous/other grain

5 pounds Russet potatoes (unpeeled)

3 cipollini onions/2 regular onions

2 eggs

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly grated pepper

½ cup flour

Sour cream (optional)

Applesauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place a baking sheet inside.
  3. Use a grinder to grind cannabis buds.
  4. Set up a double boiler.
  5. Pour vegetable oil into the top pan of the double boiler.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil until it shimmers.
  7. Add the ground cannabis.
  8. Turn on low heat and allow it to simmer for 60 minutes. A tip here: Do not forget to stir occasionally.
  9. Cook rice or any other grain. Once it is ready, put it aside.
  10. Use a grater to shred potatoes. A tip here: Prepare a bowl with cold water to immerse the shredded potatoes into it. That will keep them from turning brown.
  11. Grate onions. Put them aside for a while.
  12. Use a strainer to remove the fiber from the cannabis-infused vegetable oil.
  13. Drain the potatoes so that there is no water left and put them into a large mixing bowl.
  14. Add the grated onions.
  15. Beat eggs and add to the onion and potato mixture.
  16. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  17. Use your hands to mix all the ingredients.
  18. Add flour and mix again. A tip here: If you want to add some more flour, you are free to do so.
  19. Place a large frying pan on the stove and turn on medium heat.
  20. Pour ½ cup cannabis-infused vegetable oil into the preheated pan.
  21. Take 1 heaping tablespoon of potato batter.
  22. Fry it until it is golden brown on each side.
  23. Once the batter is ready, put it on the cooked rice or any other grain you used to let the excess cannabis oil infuse it.
  24. Transfer the potato latkes onto the preheated baking sheet.
  25. Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven to keep them warm.
  26. You can garnish the potato latkes with some sour cream and applesauce.
