Recipe: Homemade Marijuana Apple Pie

What can be better than an old-fashioned apple pie? A marijuana-infused apple pie, of course! Today we are going to share our special recipe of this dainty with you. We are positive you will like it.

Tips Before You Start

This time, we will not need any weed strain. All you have to do is buy some cannabis butter or cook it yourself. That is why you can keep aside your favorite grapefruit weed or any other weed for a while. Of corse, you can resort to smoking the good old Grapefruit Diesel. It is a great way to energize, feel happy and relaxed. However, the marijuana apple pie we are going to cook is no less potent than any grapefruit strain you have ever tasted! It has an exceptional flavor and will easily become one of your favorite marijuana-infused dishes.

To make the recipe easier for you to follow, we have divided it into two parts (crust and filling). Each of them has its own list of equipment and ingredients, so be attentive before making up a shopping list. If you are ready, let us start.

Crust

Ingredients

3 and ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons sugar

1 cup cannabis butter (cold)

¼ cup vegetable shortening (cold)

6 tablespoons water (ice-cold)

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, sugar, and salt into a mixing bowl.
  2. Take cold cannabis butter and cut it into small cubes. Add the cubes of cannabis butter to the flour and sugar mixture.
  3. Do the same with the vegetable shortening.
  4. Use a pastry cutter to smash the butter and mix the ingredients. A tip here: If you do not have a pastry cutter, you can use a fork.
  5. Keep incorporating the flour with the butter until you get a nice crumbly mixture of a light-green color. A tip here: This step may take a few minutes, so keep calm and carry on.
  6. When the mixture is ready, start to add water to it. A tip here: You should add a little bit of water at a time and knead the dough with your hands.
  7. Once the dough forms one big ball, it is time to take it out of the mixing bowl.
  8. Put the dough on a clean working surface and cut it into 2 parts. One of the parts should be a little bit bigger than the other.
  9. Pack the both parts in cling wrap and put them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. A tip here: The longer the dough parts are in the refrigerator, the better.
  10. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  11. Remove the bigger part from the refrigerator and roll it out into a 13-inch circle with the help of a rolling pin.
  12. Take a baking pan and place the rolled out dough into it. There will be a little bit of hanging over around the outside of the pan.
  13. Then, put the pie pan in the refrigerator.
  14. Take the second part of the dough, roll it out into a 13-14 inches circle, pack it in cling wrap and put it back in the refrigerator.

Filling

Ingredients

3 pounds apples

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3 and ¼ teaspoons cinnamon (ground)

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon water

1 egg (large)

⅛ teaspoon nutmeg

3 and ¼ cups brown sugar

1 pinch salt

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples, peel and core them.
  2. Cut the apples into thin slices to make your pie big in size and make sure all the apples cook inside the pie.
  3. Once the apples are sliced, put them into a mixing bowl.
  4. Add lemon juice and brown sugar to the apples.
  5. Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients well.
  6. Then, take a small mixing bowl and combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt in it.
  7. Mix all the ingredients and add them to the apples. Use a spoon to mix them well.
  8. Let the apples sit in the sugar and flour mixture for 10 minutes.
  9. Then, remove the pie pan with the crust base from the refrigerator and fill it with apples.
  10. Take the second part of the dough. Align it across the top of the pie and seal the two parts of the dough nicely. A tip here: You can seal the pie with scalloped edges.
  11. Now, use a knife to make six small holes on the top of the pie.
  12. Take a fork and decorate the edges of the pie with its tines. A tip here: It does not only make your pie look more attractive but also helps seal it off more securely.
  13. Put an egg into a small mixing bowl and whisk it.
  14. Add water to it and continue whisking.
  15. Use a pastry brush to generously cover the entire top of the pie. A tip here: If you have no pastry brush, you can use any kind of brush or even paper towels.
  16. Take granulated sugar and sprinkle the pie with it.
  17. Put the pie in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or so.
  18. Then, place the pie into the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  19. Because of the egg on the top, the pie will get brown very quickly. That is why you should keep an eye on it.
  20. Once the pie gets brown, reduce the temperature to 325 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes more.
  21. Now your pie should be dark-brown, but you still need to cook it on the inside. That is why you should carefully remove the pie from the oven.
  22. Take a piece of aluminum foil and cover the top of the pie.
  23. Put the pie back into the oven for another 20 minutes.
  24. When the pie is ready, let it cool for 60 minutes.
  25. You can decorate your pie with some whipped cream to make it even tastier.
