Recipe: Homemade Weed Boombattas Vodka

Why is marijuana called pot? Well, of course, it has nothing to do with a well-known culinary tool. The word “pot” came into use in America back in the 1930s. It is a shortening of the Spanish word “potiguaya” (or “potaguaya”) that came from “potación de guaya.” Potación de guaya is wine or brandy infused with marijuana buds. The name of this drink can be translated as “the drink of grief.” But now we have so many names for this plant that you can pick your favorite: you can call pot marijuana, weed, herb, grass, ganja, and so on.

Today, following an old tradition, we will make our own pot drink. We will teach you how to prepare Boombattas Vodka.

Tips Before You Start

The recipe for Weed Boombattas Vodka is very easy, and you will certainly like it. All you need is to buy ¼ gram of high-quality marijuana, vodka, gin, light rum, and tequila. Sounds dangerous, is it not?

Equipment Needed

1 one-liter whipped cream whipper (heat-tolerant)

2 nitrous oxide chargers

1 double boiler (large enough to accommodate the whipper contents)

1 Pyrex measuring glass


Small metal strainer


Cocktail shaker

Highball glasses



1 oz. vodka

¼ gram marijuana (high-quality)

½ oz. gin

½ oz. light rum

½ oz. tequila

2 dashes Cola

½ lemon

2 slices lemon


  1. Squeeze lemon and put the juice aside.
  2. Pour vodka into the whipper.
  3. Put marijuana into the whipper as well.
  4. Attach the nitrous charger to the whipper.
  5. Release the gas.
  6. Unscrew the charger and attach the second charger and release the gas again.
  7. Then, let it sit for a minute or two and open it up.
  8. Set up your double boiler.
  9. Heat the water in the lower pan of the double boiler to around 200 degrees.
  10. Then, pour the infused alcohol into the top pan of the double boiler.
  11. Simmer the alcohol at this temperature in the top pan of the double boiler for about 45 minutes.
  12. Remove the pan with alcohol from heat and set aside.
  13. Take a glass measuring cup and put a small metal strainer on top of it.
  14. Then set some cheesecloth into the strainer.
  15. Pour your de-carbed cannabis liquid into the glass measuring cup.
  16. Strain out the leftover cannabis.
  17. Pour alcohol into a cocktail shaker.
  18. Add gin, light rum, tequila, Cola, and lemon juice.
  19. Mix all the ingredients and pour over ice in highball glasses.
  20. Decorate your cocktail with lemon slices.

Voila! Your incredible cocktail is ready. Do not forget that this drink is marijuana-infused and should be consumed responsibly.
